A tennis ladder is a structured competition where players are ranked based on wins & losses. A ladder is governed by a set of rules designed to ensure fair play and promotes match play.
Unlike in a tournament, where players are eliminated after losing, in a ladder, match play is continuous and players can move up or down in ranking. The ladder has the distinct advantage of allowing players to improve their match play and move up ladder while continuously facing tougher opponents.
